The Homeless Book Project

With rents constantly on the rise, BooksActually, an independent bookstore in Singapore wants to find a solution to raise funds to buy a permanent home. So we placed “homeless” books out on the streets with a help-sign, and a little tin can. Passers-by who are intrigued by the sight of these homeless books can scan the QR code in the tin can and print a 30% discount voucher from a little printer next to the homeless book. And through this, we raised $210,000 in two months, thanks to hundreds of book lovers who made a purchase with their voucher. BooksActually can now start a new chapter.
